This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our websites (getgameface.com), web applications (app.getgameface.com, pro.getgameface.com), and related services (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the Services, and information from third-party authentication providers.

Account and profile information:

• Name (first and last)
• Email address
• Phone number
• Profile photo and avatar
• Sport type, position, and athletic profile data
• Notification preferences

Content you create or upload:

• Videos, photos, and documents uploaded to your personal or team workspace
• Highlight reels and video clips
• Live stream recordings
• Event and game data, including scores and markers
• AI analysis results generated from your content
• GrindCard profile data and performance metrics

Usage and technical information:

• Log data including IP address, browser type, and pages visited
• Device identifiers and operating system
• Authentication tokens and session data
• Audit log records of actions taken within the platform

Third-party authentication: If you sign in using Facebook, Google, or Apple, we receive basic profile information (name, email, profile photo) from that provider as permitted by your settings with them. We do not receive your social media passwords.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Provide, operate, and improve the Services
• Process and deliver content you upload or create
• Enable team collaboration, workspace sharing, and live streaming features
• Send transactional communications (account verification, event notifications, team invitations)
• Send SMS or email notifications where you have opted in
• Generate AI-powered analysis of your athletic content
• Maintain security, detect fraud, and enforce our Terms of Service
• Comply with legal obligations
• Respond to your support requests and communications

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. How We Share Your Information

With organizations you join: When you accept an invitation to join a team or organization on the platform, the administrators of that organization can see your profile information and content shared within that workspace. Content contributed to an organization-managed workspace is subject to that organization's policies.

With service providers: We use third-party service providers to operate the Services, including Amazon Web Services (cloud infrastructure and storage), Amazon Cognito (authentication), Amazon IVS (live streaming), Twilio (SMS), and SendGrid (email). These providers process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.

For legal reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of GameFace, our users, or the public.

Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal account data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, we delete or anonymize your personal profile data and the contents of your personal workspace within 30 days, subject to the exceptions below.

We retain the following data after account deletion:

• Audit log records, which are retained for security and compliance purposes. Your identity in these records is anonymized upon account deletion, but the action records themselves are retained.
• Content you contributed to organization-managed workspaces, which belongs to that organization and is subject to their retention policies.
• Financial and transaction records, which are retained as required by applicable law.
• Information we are required to retain by law or legitimate legal process.

5. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data. You may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing.

You can update your profile information and notification preferences at any time from your account settings. You can delete your account from the Settings page within the app.

6. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and analyze usage of the Services. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

7. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us at privacy@getgameface.com and we will delete it promptly. Users between 13 and 18 should use the Services only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

8. International Transfers

GameFace is based in Canada. Your information may be processed and stored in Canada, the United States, or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Services, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

9. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, access controls, and audit logging. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the effective date. Your continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
